Who are we?
PCS is a union made up of staff across the civil service – our members. Some of these staff train in employment law and dispute resolution and become ‘reps’ – representing our members on issues they have at work. This can be almost anything – from disciplinary, your health and safety, to work performance. We sometimes take on branch ‘roles’ as well as being reps. Examples of these roles are your Health and Safety rep, or your Equality rep
What do we do?
We work with our members to agree what they want to achieve – you’ll meet with a rep first to discuss the issue. Our work goes from having conversations at early stages through to representing members at employment tribunal. Reps also negotiate on behalf of their members with management, going all the way up to national level. We are an ‘organising’ union – we work with our members and they are involved in helping every step of their case.
To get in touch with us, please email PCSLeeds@HMRC.gov.uk. We monitor the inbox every day but please be patient with us when awaiting a reply. If you want us to take on a case for you, or attend a meeting, please include brief details so that we can assign you the right rep. We do not guarantee any specific rep, and we assign cases based on reps experience and availability. All of our reps are members of the Branch Executive Committee (BEC), and are based in 7/8 Wellington Place.
